Does the Church Really Show Redeeming Love?

Why are we glorifying Redeeming Love when our own congregations would run the other way in real life? We’re much more comfortable watching a fictional character heal from sexual abuse and assault than we are taking an active part in helping real women. And we’re fine with using her as a sermon example – that is, until she shows up in real life.
